The Inquiry Plan is based on the constructivist approach of inquiry-based learning. The plan template is similar to the Unit Plan but also includes an 8 step inquiry-based process model. The steps in the model are:

- Planning
- Questioning
- Gathering
- Organising and Process
- Celebrating and Presenting
